IMG_7322-1.jpg Jessica (“Jess”) Capelle writes stories for all age levels that are generally of the adventure, mystery, or thriller variety and often of the fantasy, science fiction, or horror variety.  Sometimes she writes non-fiction and poetry too. She’s even been a ghostwriter for writers who don’t write about ghosts (sadly). If you’re into spooky books for kids, she also writes as Jessa Dean.

Jess holds a BA in French and a JD. In addition to practicing law, she can often be found freelance writing, editing both fiction and non-fiction, and teaching writing workshops locally and online. She is a former board member of the inaugural Houston Sisters in Crime chapter, a co-founder and moderator of an online group for middle grade writers, and a member of SCBWI and Codex Writers. She also served as co-founder and coordinator of the former Houston YA/MG Writers Group.

Jess divides her time between Houston and Los Angeles. Her two feline overlords like to “help” with her work, so you’ll often find her typing away in local coffee shops. Her muse, Lucinda, is generally absent.

Jess is seeking new representation for her work, so if you’re an agent, please reach out via e-mail at jessicacapelle (at) gmail (dot) com.
